From Nómadas del Mar to Sailinguest: Sharing the Sea the Way We Experience It
After years of sailing and sharing our life on board through Nómadas del Mar, we created Sailinguest to introduce other travelers to destinations we know firsthand, beginning with San Blas.

We are Celia and Álvaro, the couple behind Nómadas del Mar. In 2020, we left our life on land behind to live and travel aboard our sailboat. Since then, we have sailed across the Mediterranean, crossed the Atlantic, explored the Caribbean and continued our journey along the Pacific coast.
Over the years, we have learned that discovering a destination by sea is very different from visiting it by land. Traveling by boat is about more than simply reaching a place. It allows you to explore at a different pace, reach areas that are otherwise difficult to access and experience the life and culture of the people who call them home.
This way of traveling changed how we see the world. It is also where the idea for Sailinguest began.
An adventure that started as our own
When we first set sail, we had no idea where this life would take us. We began sharing our experiences through Nómadas del Mar and, little by little, a growing community formed around our journey—people who follow our passages, learn from our mistakes and discover places alongside us that they may never have imagined visiting.
Sharing our journey made us realize that many people are just as curious about experiencing life at sea, but they do not always know where to begin. Finding a boat is not particularly difficult. The real challenge is knowing which boat to choose, which crew is right for the kind of trip you want and what the experience behind each offering is actually like.
Sailinguest was created to introduce others to some of the destinations we have discovered through sailing and to help them experience those places in a way that feels as close as possible to how we experienced them ourselves.
San Blas: where Sailinguest had to begin
If there was one destination that made sense as our starting point, it was San Blas.
The Guna Yala archipelago was much more than just another stop along our route. We lived there for an extended period, sailed between its islands, explored its anchorages and spent time with its communities. San Blas introduced us to a different way of life—simpler, closer to nature and shaped by the rhythm of the sea.
It is one of those places that is difficult to put into words. Hundreds of islands, crystal-clear water, coral reefs, nearly deserted beaches and communities that have preserved their own culture and way of life. Above all, it is a destination that can feel completely different depending on how you explore it and who introduces you to it.
That is why we never wanted Sailinguest to be simply a list of boats. We wanted to select experiences that would allow travelers to discover San Blas the way we would have wanted to experience it ourselves: at an unhurried pace, away from impersonal itineraries and alongside people who truly know the archipelago.
A small, carefully selected collection
Our collection of boats is intentionally limited.
Our goal is not to offer the largest possible number of options, but to work with boats and crews whose standards and approach we know firsthand. People who care about the experience on board, understand the destination and know that a journey like this is about far more than sleeping on a boat or moving from one island to another.
Every boat is different, just as every traveler is different. Some experiences are ideal for couples seeking privacy, while others are better suited to families or groups of friends. Some stand out for their food, while others focus more on sailing, diving or the crew’s relationship with the local communities.
Our role is to understand those differences and help each traveler find the option that genuinely suits the way they want to travel.
It is not about finding a boat. It is about finding the right experience.
Traveling the way we would want to be shown each destination
After years of sailing, we know that the best experiences are not always the most luxurious or the ones with the longest list of activities. They are the ones built around genuine knowledge of the destination and a crew that knows how to make the journey feel personal.
That is what we want Sailinguest to offer: recommendations based on firsthand knowledge of both the destination and the people who work there.
We want every traveler to experience the destination authentically, with a flexible itinerary and enough time to enjoy both the places they visit and life on board. An experience similar to the one we had when we first arrived under sail.
San Blas is only the beginning
Sailinguest begins in San Blas because it is one of the places we know best and one that has meant so much to us. But our intention is to keep growing gradually.
Over time, we will introduce other destinations where we have lived or sailed and that we know firsthand. Our approach will remain the same: to work only with boats and crews we trust and to offer experiences that stay true to the character of each place.
We want Sailinguest to grow one destination at a time, featuring only places we know well and experiences we can genuinely recommend.
After so many years of sharing our own adventures, this project feels like the natural next step: helping others experience adventures of their own.
Choosing your trip well is the first step to live the sea in the best possible way.
Let us guide you, plan with calm and get ready for the exceptional.
